Why they fit
The stud-connection building brick system has been a de facto standard for decades. The original patents that protected it expired many years ago, and since then a whole industry of manufacturers has produced bricks with the same dimensions.
The key measurement is the stud pitch: 8 mm, with studs 4.8 mm in diameter. It is the same across every brand that follows the standard, and it is the one used by the sets we sell.
What this means in practice
- You can combine our sets with your current collection with no adapters or tricks.
- You can use our bricks for your own creations and mix them with the ones you already have.
- If you are missing a brick from another set, you will very likely find the equivalent here.
About brands
Star Brick is an independent store. We do not sell LEGO products and have no relationship with LEGO or any other toy brand. When a product page mentions another brand's set reference, it is only so you know which design it is compatible with or which model it resembles.
Differences you will notice
To be honest, not everything is identical:
- The clutch can be slightly firmer or looser depending on the manufacturer. Nothing that stops you building, but you will notice it if you are used to a particular brand.
- Printed pieces are sometimes replaced by plain ones in some sets. When that happens, we say so on the product page.
- The manual may be less polished. They are correct and complete, but the layout is not always at the level of the big brands.
Compatibility FAQ
Can I mix bricks from your sets with other brands?
Yes. Because they share the same 8 mm pitch, the bricks can be combined with each other and with those of the main construction brands, without adapters.
Is the quality the same as the market leader?
Very close, but not identical. The clutch can be a little firmer or looser depending on the manufacturer, some printed pieces are replaced by plain ones and the manuals are less polished. For building and displaying, the result is very similar.
Do the sets include instructions?
Yes. Every set includes its illustrated step-by-step building manual. In most sets it's printed; a few come with a PDF, and when that's the case we say so on the product page.
What if a piece is missing?
Write to us with your order number and a photo of the manual page where it is missing. We handle it with the supplier and give you a solution: a replacement set or a refund, depending on the case. You do not need to return the set to open the claim.
Are these official LEGO sets?
No. They are compatible brick sets from other manufacturers. Star Brick does not sell LEGO products and has no relationship with LEGO.
Care and cleaning
Rigid plastic: clean it with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid very hot water, the dishwasher and prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade light colours over time.
